What we need to assess
Tell us the piano type, approximate dimensions and weight, and whether there are stairs at either end. Photograph the instrument, doorways, landings, outdoor steps, and the loading approach. Tight turns or sloped access can matter as much as the piano itself.
A separate quote for a specialty item
Pianos are specialty work and are not covered by the calculator’s ordinary furniture assumptions. We review the instrument and route, then confirm whether we can take the job, the required crew and equipment, and the price. Do not treat the standard hourly minimum as a piano quote.
Prepare both locations
Measure the intended space at delivery and the route leading to it. Clear the surrounding area and identify anything that cannot be moved out of the way. Arrange building access and share restrictions before booking. If your building needs insurance paperwork, send the required wording and deadline.
Discuss protection before the move
Tell us about the piano’s condition and any known loose or fragile components. Request the applicable valuation terms and current coverage information, particularly for a high-value instrument. We agree on the move itself in advance; tuning or instrument servicing is not part of the standard moving scope.
